This is a lovely state park situated on the edges of a marsh.You'll see lots of birds,deer and raccoons.Most sites have curved half circle drive-throughs, 30amp,water,fire rings.Dump station nearby.No see-ums can be a problem at certain times of the year-especially if the wind dies.Boat launch and fishing dock in the campground .Lovely hiking trails and historic ruins of a fort on the grounds.Publix market is nearby.Historic Savannah is about 45 minutes away.We stayed here in a 40'motorhome.

This KOA is better than most that we have stayed at. Easy on and off I-95 at Exit 87, about 20 miles south of Savannah. The roads are paved and the sites are level with compact gravel. All the utilities worked well including the wi-fi and free expanded cable with HBO. There is a lake with swans and catch & release fishing. The bath houses and laundry are tidy and clean with good maintenance. The store is well stocked and the staff were very nice and friendly. The commute into the historic district of Savannah is about 25 minutes. A good place to stop over or spend a few days and tour a very historic area. We will stay here again. We were glad we had a reservation - the place was full.

On our way home, decided to stay 7 miles South of Savannah in Richmond Hill exit 87. I was pleasantly surprised when we entered the KOA off I-95. Big Rig friendly and well maintained, but a lot of Pine Trees and a lake with Swans, don't see this often in and around Savannah. Like I said it is short drive up the interstate to South Side of Savannah by taking exit 94. We decided to stay longer because the park is so well maintained.

Typical KOA - friendly staff, good location, clean restrooms & laundry. Does have road noise from 95. Convenient to all Savannah sites - tour bus does pick up at campground.
